corrosion is the enemy
Stainless Steel heater pipes, by-pass pipe and radiator hose pipe (genuine toyota parts
We’ve found nice stainless pipes to replace your rotten steel ones.
Did you notice the corrosion/rust/pitting when you pulled the heater hoses off of the pipes? Over the years the coolant/water mixture eats away at the steel pipes. Because of their “well-hidden” locations when installed on the engine, it’s not something you want leaking. Trying to get a new hose to seal on the corroded and pitted heater pipe ends can be a frustrating ordeal.
We also have the pipe (#5) that goes between the timing cover and the lower radiator hose, in stainless steel. These get corroded at both hose sides and also develop small pinhole seeps at the inner part of the extreme bend, for some reason it only shows up once it’s been re-installed. Trust me, its not fun to find this leak after you install your engine. Replacing it on the truck is like a round of Jenga.
** due to the odd size of these pipes, it might freak out my shipping calculator when you add them to the cart. If you get a sky high price for the shipping on these, give me a call and we can work it out.
