It's hard to kill a 22RE fuel pump. Sitting for extended periods of time is the most common killer. Old fuel can cause them to seize up. So can the residue left behind when the fuel in the tank evaporates from sitting.
You lucky 4-Runner guys have an access panel to get to this in the rear cargo area, you pick-up guys will have to drop the tank or lift the bed.
